Redhot Jumper Stick on bifocals, up in website ratings ........................

While updating my optical website listing for the last few hours:

I found that the website that promotes finished stick on bifocals, had a drastic increase in Alexa ratings over the last few months.

Optix 20/20 stick on bifocal segment new Alexa rating
    1,088,807
    http://www.optx2020.com

By the drastically increased traffic to that site, this would translate that there must be a sudden increased interest in converting existing single vision glasses, into bifocals by the do yourself method.

Are you as opticians aware of this trend ? Are you selling them too, or do you just ignore this idea?

I can honestly say I forgot stick-ons existed! Would love to know if anyone uses them and how they have worked out for the patients. Are they easily removable?

My MD had me order a pair for him a while ago. They are like fresnel... I didn't recommend them due to getting them straight and lined up correctly. He never came back to tell me how great they were so I'm assuming it was not that successful. He wanted them for fishing. His family are big fishermen, so if it had worked well, they would have had me order more.

They have been around forever at least 30 years or more. However they become popular for while and then you don't hear from them anymore.

They are a super idea if you want to demonstrate to somebody how bifocals work

They're fine. But should never have been made in afT profile.

Round seg would be much better, for obvious reasons.

id luv to see them made in prism segs

You can make both yourself with a power Fresnel.

I see interest amongst the factory workers. They all know somebody who loves them. My sense is that it belongs to the online marketplace and that no one thinks to order them via an ECP. Frankly, I think it is okay, because we can then explain the affordability of RX safeties and discuss specialty options that may perform better.

They are indeed needful things. I have a bunch of them in different Add powers that I have been using occasionally since 1970. Back then, before I needed multifocals full time they were great for the occasional real close tasks. I still use them mostly for hobbies and sports. Last week I used a +2.50 FT-35 over my +2.75 Add trifocals to tie some flies.

They are a Godsend anytime you have to do something 6 inches from your nose. I have no idea where you would get them today, I got these from the folks that made the Fresnel prisms and lenses. Use em, peel em off and save for the next job.

I have about 60-70 of them, in various powers. I'll sell them all for $5 each. $10 each if you want to buy them individually.

Wow! That's cheap. I paid way more than that from Hilco! I don't need any, but if anyone does... that is a great deal!
