92% in less than 20 min Good test, a few things.

29 - scored wrong I had the right answer
30 - the answer in the test is wrong
40 - questionable answer
73 - the answer in the test is wrong

I was going fast through the test and realized 3 questions I chose wrong but no go back and correct feature was available, that would be a nice addition.

77 percent in 30 mnutes while half asleep... I'm pleased.. I feel its a nice test.. should'nt there be some questions about some if the new products i.e. freeform, how to pick lenses for pt needs? Just a thought

I did the same thing I got that wrong because I thought it was the specified axis of the prescription in the question before. I also get a few of the prism questions wrong because I quickly calced out the power and skimmed the answers; I didn't realize until I had passed through 2 of the questions that there were two answers with different directions. Completely my bad on those. A few of the questions also had the wrong answers if you noticed. It was actually pretty fun, I was trying to see how fast I could go too, I had it down to about 8.7 seconds per questions, that's just me being a nerd.

I didn't get an email response and forgot to screenshot the results page so I am anxious to hear back from John and see if he can manually send the results or scores.

In-depth prism questions - unless the BASIC ABO has changed I would say no. Most of the prism questions on the basic test are fairly simple and can be calc'ed without a calculator going more difficult makes a better test just for the sake of making a better test.

If the intention is to gauge the level of understanding on the subject, then maybe. Maybe also has a caveat - "Do you have people get discouraged because it's too hard?", is that even a concern or issue. Ultimately if someone can get a more difficult prism questions correct they will do well on prism questions on the basic ABO, but if that same someone can get the simpler questions correct and also do well on the basic ABO, then I would say save the more difficult questions and have them serve as in course assessments using the current practice test as a means of uncovering weak subjects with modules that allow further understanding of the specific topics.

That's just my opinion, though. I'll have to retake the test and see how I do with the corrections. I also never received an email of the results, they did display on screen though so next time I'll screen grab them.

Another quick suggestion, a random shuffle of the questions would make test fatigue less likely and keep the integrity of the test high, the cost is it would be difficult to get feedback on the questions by number reference. Just a thought.

By in-depth I just mean the most basic PD or OC prism questions but with a little, tiny bit, more math (arithmetic) involved?
Not PIOM formula or anything like that.

Random question order will be turned on after the review feedback is over.
No way for me to track by question number if that is turned on now.

Well 98%, made one "oh crap" mistake, the last question on blue light needs the answers improved.

Blue Light Lenses protect from HEV - High Energy Visible Light

The options were

1 - CFL (Compact Flourescent Light)
2 - HDL (Heavy Duty Lighting?)
3 - LCD (Liquid Crystal Display)
4 - LED (Light Emitting Diode)

CFL's, LCD's, and some LED's emit blue light but they are not types of light, I assumed that HDL was somehow meant as HEV but the correct answer was LED. In only a few LED's do they emit blue light. LED's come in many different colors and their efficiency is due to creating a specific wavelength with very little light outside of that wavelength. So a red, green, yellow, etc. LED will emit next to zero blue light.

LCD's usually use LED backlighting to create brightness in the display, often this backlighting is white which in LED's is often slightly bluish and emits blue light.

CFL compact fluorescents are notorious for emitting blue light.

These are all lighting technologies not actually types of light.

I would change HDL to HEV and make it the correct answer.

There were 2 vogels rule questions, I think the one for minus powers doesn't split the power before adding 6. I may be remembering it wrong the plus power may split the power then add 6.

Vogels Rule:

Minus: BC = P/2 + 6
Plus: BC = P + 6

(BTW - Fantastic job on the test)

The question that asked what P.O.W. stood for said the answer was Point of wear, but should be Position of wear.

This is absolutely a phenomenal resource. I had my whole office take the test. Thank you and I will purchase the final product for any of my employees who want to attempt the ABOC.

Just a quick update here: We will have a random question test bank of 200 by the end of next week. Each exam will be 100 questions long and pull from the test bank. That will eliminate the redundant order and make each test more unique.

Adding more prism, base curve, MBS, lens tilt, power and meridian and focal length questions too.

What should we use as a time limit?
What should we use for a "passing score?"

When will this test be available again? i've tried clicking the link ( page says that the link is inactive), logging in, searching.... all to no avail and since i really need to take a practice test to see what i need to brush up on i'd love to do this one!!

This is a 125 question, online practice test with an instant % score.

I could use some extra eyes on these questions and could really use some feedback on creating some new material.
