I know I've seen plenty of 'me-too' photochromic lenses. Usually whenever anyone has anything new, it works more or less the same as the 'big brand' ones. Maybe the color is a little different, or one is a few percent darker or lighter. The 'new' one is usually a bit cheaper, and that's the main selling point. Close enough to brand name, but cheaper.
NuanceRT, on the other hand, is actually different. The fact that it changes so much faster makes it a unique product. I've had plenty of the other ones come and go over the years, but this lens actually has something that represents improvement.
