Pretty much everyone freaked out. It was a bad time. Crazy, we're coming up on 2 years with Darryl.
Thanks everyone... I got my Opticampus back via the different link AND the new on https://makeoptics.com/harrychiling/LensThick.html
All is good once again in OPTICAL WORLD!!

Opticampus link is again not working. Anyone have any insight?
Because the hosting company made changes to the server, the OptiCampus IP address was changed. I updated the link from OptiBoard but here's the direct IP: http://216.144.236.77/
Note: I don't have access to the OptiCampus.com registration and unfortunately Darryl's family didn't reply to my inquiries on keeping it going. Therefore all I can do is provide the direct IP link.

Thank you Steve for keeping it available while it still is. Too anyone that doesn't know of Darryl Meister; He was one of the greatest optical minds in modern times whom left this Earth way too soon. Some of his work is still out there on the internet. I encourage all Opticians to read every book/article he'd written. RIP my friend..
Thanks Steve !!!
Optivision also has a copy of the OptiCampus site propped up:

Unfortunately, there are some serious issues with regard to that RX Compensation program and its licensing. Since there is no software license attached to it anywhere that I could see, and it carries a copyright on it, that software is not free to distribute or use without the express permission of the person who currently owns the rights to that software.
Does anyone have a link somewhere that shows the original creator intended for it to be distributed for free? The software informer link doesn't count since there is no verification of who uploads a piece of software on that site. It would have to be on a written statement or webpage that one could reasonably prove was created by and under the control of the person who wrote the software.
If not, the link needs to be removed and the upload on Software Informer needs to be removed as well.
I'm not trying to be a jerk about this. My intention is to respect the intellectual property of its creator.
If anyone doubts what I am writing here, feel free to read more about a "No License" situation here:
https://choosealicense.com/no-permission/
Also, for anyone questioning if the copyright is still valid, it is, for 70 years after its creator passed, under the term of the 1998 copyright act.

The Rx Compensator, as well as many other contributions, were authored by the brilliant Darryl Meister. Unfortunately, Darryl passed away unexpectedly in 2014.
Darryl was devoted to the optical industry and generous in sharing his time and expertise. With Dr. James Sheedy he wrote “Introduction to Ophthalmic Optics”, which continues to be used in optometry and opticianry schools. He was a key contributor to many important industry initiatives, including the VCA's Lens Description Standard (VCA LDS) and ANSI's Z80.1 Standards. His articles have been published in magazines such as Optical World, Clinical and Experimental Optometry, LensTalk, Refractive Eyecare Management, and more. He lectured for organizations such as the Opticians Association of America, the Meredith Morgan Symposium at the UC Berkeley School of Optometry, and the Contact Lens Society of Ophthalmologists, to name just a few. He was a frequent and respected contributor to this very venue, OptiBoard.com, where he shared insights, information, and expertise, and was never too busy to answer questions from his industry colleagues.
What he was perhaps most recognized for, however, was his willingness to share his lens expertise with others. Through his OptiCampus.com website, which was free and open to all to use, he shared information on ophthalmic lens design, progressive lens design, the nature of light and optics, wavefront aberrations, and a host of other technical lens subjects.
He was known to so many in the industry not just as a master of lens knowledge, but as a mentor to others. Please click here for posts and more by Darryl.
Darryl himself has freely offered the Rx Compensator here on the OptiBoard in this thread here.
The bottom line: there are no conflicts or legal issues w/ his contributions freely shared, as was his desire. Both OptiBoard and Optivision, Inc. continue to prop up his shared contributions at our own expense.
