    Confused I need a consultation

Greeting the wise gurus of all things optics!

I am at my wits end. I have a new progressive wearer that is seeing "HD" quality well out of one eye and not as clear from the other. The Rx is

    +0.25
    +0.25
    -0.75
    -1.00
    x 003
    x 007
    +1.25
    +1.25

    PDs 29/30 Seg at 17

It's a non-digital progressive. CR-39 material. As far as I can tell the design is comfortable for her and I double checked all measurements. What could be causing this?

    Thank you all~

She's seeing well out of her left. It's a vision source progressive Truclear.

Does the lens read what it's supposed to? Can you check the engravings to make sure it wasn't edged or mounted off-axis?

Any change in RX from last time?

In the not-so-clear eye: Which part is not clear? distance, intermediate, near, or all of it? Are there any areas where the patient can see well (such as straight ahead only)?

First time in a progressive? If no, is this the same designs they were wearing before?

What are measured BVA? A good point of reference would be to trial frame both DRX and NRX and to occlude each eye during the process to determine if it is the actual Rx.

Do you know if the patient has any ophthalmic pathologies (cataracts, retinal issues) that could be contributing to her vision complaint?

I checked the markings and they are all well within tolerance. The entire right eye is not as sharp. It seems to help if she looks through the nasal edge, though still not perfect. No ophthalmic pathologies that we found. OD Distance VA (20/) 20 OS Distance VA (20/) 40

Rx change is relatively mild. Previous rx:
    +0.25
    +0.25
    -0.25
    -0.75
    x 176
    x 005

    Hey, bro.

OD or OS, it's something you need to put in a phoroptor or trial frame and see what's up.

If it's OK, then it's the glasses. Then who cares? Remake the sucker.

    Hey, Bro!?

I just about knocked my beer off the dispensing table when I read that.

Assuming you know how to fit a progressive...

If the distance is blurry, it's the Rx or pathology.

If the near is blurry, it's the design, fit or a binocular issue.

If it's the first pair of Rx glasses period, The person just realized they have a dominant eye.

I'm confused. You said in an earlier message that "she's seeing well out of her left", but then when you listed the acuities the Right (OD) is 20/20 and the Left (OS) is 20/40. Please clarify which eye is not clear. We also need to know if it's her distance or near that is not clear.
