Ageing Canadians sustain market growth though eyewear also increases amongst the youth

The fastest-growing age segment in Canada is the over 65 group, whilst 69+ and the number of Canadians over 40 also continued to increase. Hyperopia is virtually unavoidable at an older age, signifying that the trend towards a rising percentage of the population being over 40 will support growth in the eyewear market. Younger Canadians are also seeing a rise in eyewear use, particularly for myopia. These trends together underpinned steady positive performance in the market over the review period as demand increased across segments of the population.
