    Studio Optyx - Experiences?

My local Tura rep has jumped the ship to this company. The NW77th are made in the USA and seem to have nice designs... I've never heard of them before though. Does anyone here have any experience with the line/company? They seem fiercely independent which is nice. I'm particularly interested in the NW77th frames.

They sell very well. Quality seems good for now. Time will tell.

Thanks for the heads up about this, esp NW77TH. Very cool background story. Looks nice also! Would love to hear more feedback.

I think I will be trying them out. I was excited to see the US designed line by Europa STATE I believe? They seemed... like clunky Zyls. Not bad, but not great either. These actually look unique and flattering. I will be meeting with the rep at some point.

    Thanks for the feedback mdeimler.

So...who has opinions on this company and the quality of their products at this time?

I carry the NW77th and am a fan. Their plastics HOLD. Recently had to restyle a gentleman that has a vastly different script in each eye and in SV. In using stock lenses we found they were impossible to hold adjustment due to being on different base curves. But in the NW77th they have not lost their adjustment and he is very happy.

The warehouse reps are great and will be sure to physically check stock and set it aside for low stock items. The biggest downside I have come across, is the usefulness of their website. The colors listed are never accurate, so it is best just to call.

This is the only line I carry from them so I don't have an opinion on other lines.
Have I told you today how much I hate poly?

I've been happy with them. (NW77th is only line I carry as well) They have more zyls than metals. Zyls hold their shape and seem to be doing well. Made in St Louis is always a good thing. Metals are made in South Korea and do well also, but we do sell more of the zyls.

I brought Erkers and a few NW 77th frames in earlier this year and my patients love them. The Erkers hinges are damn near bullet proof. Reasonable pricing and very good quality. I also like that all frames come with a dispenser sized microfiber cloth. I give them a 5 star thumbs up!
