Santinelli 7070 does not advance to bevelling wheel

I have a Santinelli 7070 with NO tracer attached. I am trying to assess the other functions of the edger to verify if everything else works OK. However, when I put in a practice poly lens using a previous tracing stored in the edger it does not seem to work properly. The edger cuts the lens down quite nicely on the roughing wheel but then does not move the lens onwards to the bevelling wheel. I have set it to metal frame and it should do the bevel. Does anyone have any idea is to why a machine would stop at this point? Could it be the previous tracing that we used (since the tracer does not work this was the only way I could think of to check it).

I have not used this edger in about 7 years, but i might be wrong but i do believe this edger has the auto/manual bevel option. If it does put it on auto and it should move on to the bevel.

Thanks. Actually I discovered that by simply connecting the broken tracer to the edger the problem was solved. Strange but true.

if you mean the lmu jig not the tracer jig. if i remember right...mount the jig and chuck, hit menu. then hold retouch and hit start then let go of both at the same time should auto start.

if you have a 7070sx it was different - while off hold select and turn on edger. should boot into parameter exchange. chuck jig then put cursor on lmu calibration hit select and start/stop starts it
