the elusive y-stick

Good afternoon fellow ECPs. While I have been a very longtime lurker on this board, and it has been incredibly helpful with regard to many questions over the years, I just recently registered, and now wish I had done so many years earlier. I have been an Optician in Ontario, Canada for over 38 years now, and my passion for the industry is as strong as ever. The info on this board is endless, and I look forward to continue gleaning and learning from the many topics and threads. I realize this might be an old topic for many, however, I am looking for a y-stick. I realize it is no longer being manufactured, and the major distributors for the product no longer have any stock. I spoke to Ed McGinn directly back in December, however, he has yet to come through for me. Interstate labs found one for me, but I felt the price they were asking for it was a little steep. Maybe I am wrong about the price tag. And I do appreciate the fact that a demand for something hard to get your hands on, pushes up the price, so I am hoping that someone on this forum could direct me to someone or somebody who would like to sell one to a fellow Canadian Optician for a reasonable price.

It would be helpful if you would say what your price range is, since you said you found one, but it wasn't in your range.

Amanda at Interstate Optical had one available for $299.00US. I felt that was a little steep at the time. And Laramy-K does not have any available.

most sticks shaped like a Y can be found near forested areas, there quite common. Typically there used to build slingshots or use for dowsing, why would you want one for the office? Im not saying it would be fun to use and I can't say i've never used one at work but it's frowned upon by management.
