SKILLS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Time management and excellent organization skills are essential. Must have excellent interpersonal skills to work with and educate patients and team members alike. The ability to problem solve with patients, doctors and team members is required. Demonstrate excellent personal hygiene and a clean, organized work area. Excellent written and oral communications are a must. Simple math and computer skills are required. Familiarity with current insurance providers also a plus. (VSP, Eyemed, Davis, VBA, etc)
EXPECTATION:
LEADERSHIP AND TRAINING
Required to consistently coach and develop fellow staff members.
Manage the day to day operations of a busy optometric office.
Any and all other duties required to insure proper function of the practice.
ATTITUDE, EDUCATION AND PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT
Help plan and participate in all daily and weekly team meetings.
Host one staff training meeting each month.
Remain educated and up to date on insurances & billing procedures.
Attend at least one training event each year, share knowledge with the staff.
Seek out and read articles regarding new products and technology.
Develop strategies to increase the efficiency and function of the practice.
Maintain excellence in our retail spaces, through the use of inventory management, visual merchandising, cost control, and staff training. Provide leadership to all staff. Maintain quality control standards that match the overall practice image. Arrive on time for all scheduled work days, present with professional attire and grooming, and prepared to exceed patient expectations.
PRODUCT MANAGEMENT
Track inventory replacement ordering
Track vendor rep appointments
Dates for display changes or upcoming events to be marketed
Visual Merchandising reviews and retail display changes.
Dates for specialized sales training for yourself and co-workers
Optical lab supply inventory management (nose pads, screws, etc)
Optical Displays updated quarterly at minimum, kept clean and fresh.
Oversight and responsibility of aesthetic and cleanliness of our retail spaces.
INVENTORY MANAGEMENT
Responsible and accountable for frame budget and stock levels.
Oversight of the frame buying procedures and selection for the practice.
Management of the vendor rep meeting schedules.
Oversight and responsibility for the defective and special order product being returned in a timely manner.
Routinely assess frame stock levels and make appropriate adjustments,
Maintain appropriate levels for optical supplies.
CUSTOMER SERVICE
Insure all patients' needs are being met efficiently and respectively.
Assist patients with frame selection and lens options that best fit their needs.
Maintain communication with patients throughout their purchasing experience.
Call for any delays, errors, or arrival of purchased eyewear.
