Adding Optical to a LASIK office: Suggestions welcomed!

    Hello everyone!

I work at a LASIK center in the S. California region. We're opening a second location and want to add an optical center to this office. Anyone have any experience/advice on opening an optical at a LASIK center? We're in the process of creating our business plan, but first-hand experience is invaluable and extremely appreciated Our specific purpose for expanding into optical is to promote awareness in the community for those not ready for LASIK. I would love any input from those not within our region

    Specific questions:
How many frames does an average optical shop carry?
Any references to how and where I can approach frame/lens providers and manufacturers?

    THANK YOU!!!

I managed an optical in a multi location LASIK surgery company 17 years ago. I had about 400 frames. I kept high end boutique frames that no one else in the area had. I also sold a good amount of Maui Jim sunglasses after surgery.
What is reality but a concept unique to each of us? Can anything be classed as real when our perceptions differ greatly on so many things? Just because we see something a particular way does not make it so.

Make sure you have a good selection of WileyX and/or Liberty Sport frames with facial sleeves and dry eye cups. Hire a first-rate RGP fitter.
