Looking for ICD 10 codes to use in optical insurance claims.

Sounds like you might need to do some reading about ICD 10, as it's not that simple. All you need is on line via google searches, or you can buy a book or hire a consultant. Better yet, take a CE course on it.
Thanks Dr. Stacy
I may have answered my own question via Google search as you suggested. I am sympathetic to the Docs that will be using the new system. My first impression is that the following list should do 95% of my OPTICAL billing
H52.11 = MYOPIA RIGHT EYE
H52.12 = MYOPIA LEFT EYE
H52.13 = MYOPIA BILATERAL
H52.201 = ASTIMATISM RIGHT EYE
H52.202 = ASTIGMATISM LEFT EYE
H52.203 = ASTIGMATISM BILATERAL
H52.4 = PRESBYOPIA
Z96.1 = PSEUDOPHAKIC
And I dare say, most billing could be handled by:
H52.13 = MYOPIA BILATERAL
H52.203 = ASTIGMATISM BILATERAL
H52.4 = PRESBYOPIA
Z96.1 = PSEUDOPHAKIC
I need to do some more research. Any comments would be appreciated. I may be too naive.

update
I have just signed up for IDC 10 claim testing via Availity. I will let you all know how the testing goes.
This should take a week or two.

The changeover is gonna be pretty easy for opticians.
Harder for O.D.s
Still harder for OMDs
Hardest for the ER docs, who will have a coding nightmare to face. Can you imagine finding a code for a hairline fracture of the left pinkie caused by catching it in the right rear door of a Chevy?
Oops I forgot to specify which of the 3 phalanges on that pinkie.
Claim denied.
don't forget color of said Chevy.
But seriously
Correct me if I am wrong which I usually am, I am under the belief that bilateral codes are not to be used.

The whole thing is absurd.
again correct me if I'm wrong but the US and Europe ICD 10 are different.
ICD stands for International Classification of Diseases
It is the standard for the whole world, including the US which is about to graduate from version 9 to version 10. I think we're the last significant player to finally graduate what, 3 weeks from now come hell or high water?
There is a code that is for injury sustained while your water skis are on fire. Not kidding.
Nope. Not Obama.

I was not joking on that. cant make this stuff up
Bilateral codes are to be used sparingly... we have implemented these for a while now. Being specific as possible. Our techs order labs and OCT's (hospital) so we attach a code before the OD
