    Wire Core Insertion Machine

I've been looking for a wire core insertion machine without any luck. There are posts including links in the forum, however none of them are valid. I'd prefer to buy an older machine, and I'm begining to think these are also used for another application since there is very little information about these machines on the web. Any information is appreciated.

I assume that you want to insert wire cores in zyle temples?

I was looking to build one, but life placed that on the backburner. I was going to modify an unltrasonic welding machine. The physics of insertion are are similar. Just need to attach wire core to the horn and slide into temple. You could even remove an intact spring hinge from a donor and insert it into the matching temple. easier hidden hinge replacement. Asian fit need to add nose pads...no problem. For now I just use heat. Somewhat clumsy but it works

I was thinking the same thing. Aluminum billet to act as a heat sing, peltier heaters to warm the thing up and a pushing rod to push the core in. I was thinking arduino controlled, a simple mosfet hooked to the peltier with a temperature sensor to monitor proper temp, figure about 200 to 215 degrees is a good working temp. I though of trying without ultrasonic first since I had a bear of a time hunting down any sort of device to create ultrasonic and taking something apart just seems to sketchy. If you are up for the challenge I have done most the design work already.

Those are the parts, the more custom stuff is the jig and electronics, custom made. The holes on the top allow a screw to be dropped in with a wing nut to keep the top secure, the rod would have a slightly hollowed out section to helg hold and push the temple. The hollowed out cylinder in the billet would be for the temperature gauge seen in the previous post, a bit of expoxy and running the length right near the temple cavity would allow a good temperature read.

    PCB - Roughly $35
    Temperature Guage (DS18B20) - $9.95
    MOSFET, 10k resistor, 2 pin terminal, 3 pin terminal (kit) - $3.95
    2 pin terminal, Diode, and 4K7 resistor - $2.50
    Thermal Paste - $1.95
    Arduino Micro - $20.00
    CNC Aluminum Billet - ?
    12V 6amp power supply - $16.95

Roughly a $100 in electronics and the cost of the aluminum billet CNC'd to spec. I figure around $200 could work, but the board needs a second look, my EE skills are a bit rusty.

hi there guys, hi there Jacqui

I'm in France and I'm pretty interested on a small (not fully automated, expensive, and huge) machine to do the core shooting.
Everything I've found so far is very big machinery from Italy, like the frame 11 from Fretor
I've read several post on this forum, old ones, where <Jacqui> and <JERRY HUANG>, replied and even posted some links but they don't work anymore.

Jacqui did you get some pricing/specifications/pictures from "Arvee Mechatech"? I checked its profile on IndiaMart and I found Core inserting machine, core assembling machine, and core cutting machine, but honestly very few information is being given there. I'm not even sure it's is for temples core insertion.
Another question for you Jacqui, you said in another post that you have contacts of acetate suppliers in Asia, could I send you a PM?

    Thanks you in advance!
The team: She's an optometrist, lens maker // I'm a mechanical engineer.
We are in France (what could explain the eventual flaws in our English)
The team's target: create our own frames and temples.
