October 5th, 2015 6-month OPTICIAN/CONTACT LENS FITTER career training is our 'Afternoon Class', 1:30pm-5:30pm, Monday through Friday.

September 14th, 2015 is our 'Morning Class', 8:30am-12:30pm, Monday through Friday.

BC College of Optics (BCCO) celebrates its 31st year of training Opticians and Contact Lens Fitters, and our accelerated 6-month theory and hands-on practice program trains BCCO graduates to Advanced ABO and Advanced NCLE level status. Our intensive
program is aimed at motivated students who are committed to fully-learning the opticianry profession. And the US dollar is now 25% higher than our Canadian currency, making this an ideal time to consider our Canadian opticianry training.

BC College of Optics (BCCO) is located 120 miles north of Seattle, Washington… near beautiful Vancouver, BC, CANADA. Morning and Afternoon full-time classes will begin Monday September 14th, 2015 and October 5th, 2015 respectively, and no Canadian Study Permit application is normally required for USA residents.

One year of basic high school ‘Mathematics’(Algebra) is required, as our intensive program includes full optical theory with Geometric Optics formulas. From understanding ‘prism’ and calculating slab-off, to ordering iseikonic lenses, you will become a fully-qualified Optician/Contact Lens Fitter in only 6-months of intensive study.

All optical instrumentation and ‘hands-on’ practical in both Dispensing and Contact Lens Fitting is learned in-house, and includes all types of soft lenses. Specialty RGP contact lenses such as front toric, back toric and bitoric RGP lenses, plus scleral lenses and keratometer, biomicroscope (slit-lamp), radiuscope and lensometry training are also included. All in-house/hands-on training is taught by our fully-experienced opticianry and contact lens instructors.

Ask for a 6-months ‘leave of absence’ if necessary, and then return home in March/April 2016 ready for May 2016 ABO/NCLE exams and also fully qualified to handle anything that comes through your employer’s front door. If you are truly motivated to advance in your optical career, this is an excellent opportunity to boost your optical knowledge, increase your annual income and add professional qualifications to your resume.
