    Anyone Used FittingBox?

I've seen this technology at a Vision Source trade show and I have heard Vision Source docs are partnering up with the FittingBox company. Is anyone using this right now and what is the feedback?

Great new tech, uses CV and AR to place a virtual frame on a face. You can see an example of a simplified version here: http://opticians.cc

Newer technology like getUserMedia allows websites to access camera's and stream from the page. Technologies such as OpenCV allow facial recognition. Augmented Reality allows targeted features such as the eye's to act as anchors for the frame. CSS3 Matrix allows for 3D rendering of shapes. Three.js allows for three demensional objects to be created and overlaid with image masks of the frame. Combine all or some of these technologies and you get some phenomenal tools.

    My version uses:
    getUserMedia
    OpenCV

I am working on another version that would allow for 3D display like the fitting box, been working on it off an on for over a year now when time permits. The standards keep changing which makes it difficult to produce a web app unless using older tech like Flash which can encompass script and render within Flash.

The real meat in this product is frame manufacturer buy-in, if the manufacturers don't support this new tech the selection of frames would be limited and the logistics of getting a whole catalog scanned would be a nightmare. If this tech is to go viral, I would look for an offering to manufacturers to automate the photo studio process on site avoiding the costly service they provide to have frames incorporated into the product list.
