    Blue Polarized lenses

Are these available anywhere? Plano or RX?

I know KBco had their Ocean color, but the most current listing I can find on their website that includes it is their 2013 availability chart but they no longer list it in their gallery, though it is still listed in Jobson's lens book

I'm checking all the big sunglass manufacturers, and none of them seem to do this. That kind of confirms my suspicion that it's not a beneficial product. Closest thing to it is grey polarized with a blue mirror.

Specialty Lenses used to have one, but was rolled into KBco, no idea of what still remains of that their colored Polar Collection. But KBco is your only choice.

KBco has ocean (blue) polarized lenses in 1.50, 1.55 and 1.67 materials and SV, FT, Tri and progressives designs. They are recommended for partly cloudy to sunny conditions and are good for tennis and shooting at green targets. We just did two pair last month for an account in 1.67 Shamir Auto II using SV blanks.

There would be 2 kinds of "blue polarized" lenses. One looks blue from the front side (any polarized lens with a blue mirror added to the front). That kind is fine, you just choose your base lens and have a blue flash or solid blue mirror to the front surface only*.

The other kind is NOT recommended. That is one that when looking through the lens as worn, the color of the lens is blue (makes everything you see have a blue tinge). This can be achieved by taking a polarized Grey A lens and tinting it blue. Bad idea, as this brings possibly harmful blue light into your eyes.

    * Do not add any blue reflector (Prevencia, Recharge, etc.) to the back side of the lens. But that's another story.
