    "chunky" lens edges

I've got a Gerber Coburn Kappa edger, staff informs me that it's starting to turn out lenses with rough chunky edges. Any idea what would be causing this? Apparently using the polish setting makes it worse.

I thought maybe the wheel was loose? It doesn't seem to be, but hard to tell.

We have that issue any time we try to put the safety bevel on a poly lens (cr-39 and HI seem fine). We just stopped doing the safety bevel in the kappa, and do it by hand on the wheel.

I know this doesn't solve the problem, just letting you know you aren't alone!

Same thing here. The pin bevel doesn't work so hot on a Kappa.

Turn it off and do it yourself. Better and faster.

The small hub used for auto pin bevel must be worn...try using a quality brass brush to dress clean or replace. Also check setting for amount of take off..usual setting should be .8 to 1.00. Since it is worn it must be galling when applying safety bevel
