great web site, good to see other canadians getting involved Im in halifax, nova scotia
So, will I see you there?? Anyone else?? Phil??
Well, you know it was a great convention if you still haven't made it home...
The first ever Vision Canada West this past weekend in Calgary was, by all accounts a HUGE success. Over 650 registered (only 400 were expected), and the trade show was sold out.
Best convention I've been to in years. Mo Jalie from Ireland was very informative on progressives and optics, and Kevin Burns is the best motivational speaker I've ever heard. The Bannerman's infectious disease seminar was infectious with laughter.
So many con-ed courses, so little time...
It was the usual convention in other ways: Bump into folk ya haven't seen in 7 years; who is engaged, who is divorced, who is working where, you know, the usual.
I was very surprised by the number of Optiboarders there. Gord, Hello! We Canadians do like to remain anonomous.
There were a half dozen people who 'tune in' to Optiboard regularly, I discovered, and how I was discovered, I don't know.
Anyway, still trying to recover, and won't be home til tomorrow. Anyone have a spare liver??
Shwing;-}
P.S. See you same Bat-time, same Bat-station next year (and with our dollar, it would be less expensive to come to Calgary in the fall, or Toronto in the spring than to Vegas or wherever...)
