Best CLs for someone with a history of GPC?

    Hello!

This is my first post here! :)

We are trying to find some good CLs for a patient who has a history of GPC. I've heard the Biofinity is pretty good, but she was looking for a daily lens if possible.

Anything in particular any of you have had success with?

    Thanks!

We are in Canada, by the way, so there are some brands we don't have access to :)

I'm not particularly a believer in Biofinity, but most any One Day lens should do.

She tried the Acuvue 1-day Moist and did not have a good reaction to it.

We were thinking to either try a Dailies Total-1 or Proclear 1-day with her..

Since GPC is a local allergy to antigen coating on soft contact lenses it is advised to discontinue CL wear for several weeks until all inflammation and punctate staining has resolved. Once the eye is quiet, fit new contact lenses, probably of a material different from the original offending set. Daily disposable contact lenses are recommended for patients with GPC once the disease is under control, as this eliminates the problem of protein build-up on the lenses.

Yep, we did that. There are many different brands of daily lenses, so now we're just wondering if anyone has had any particularly success with one brand over another for patients with a history of GPC.

As Grandma Pettibone used to say "What's good for the goose is not necessarily good for the gander." The chemistry of every eye is different. Considering the Hz of GPC it just might be that there is no lens for this particular eye.

Try a nice pair of glasses.
