National optronics 4T or 4Ti is the most popular remote tracer for remote transmit.

Hello:
We do have two National Optronics 4T frame tracers for sale. Can be used as remote tracers. $1995.00 plus shipping
Refurbished, tested working, calibrated and upgraded with software version 1.37 or 1.39. We recommend 1.37. Comes with the instruction manual, password, and calibration tools.
We do recommend making a test trace, and edging a lens at the start of every day to check calibration and axis.
Very clean inside and outside. Lightly used.
We test them with our Lab management system, Innovations, and all work flawlessly together.
Upgrade to "barrel style" stylus arm and tip add $495.00 (add two weeks to delivery).
The advantage of the National Optronics 4T tracers we are offering: it is what we use every day. They are well designed, durable, support from National Optronics is still available, parts are available, and they are essentially the same as the "new" National Optronics 4Ti Tracers at a fraction of the cost. The stylus arm upgrade has value due to better rimless lens patterns, and better axis control of rimless patterns or lenses. Size is also closer; the upgrade is not necessary, but it is what we did, and we do like the result. The choice is yours.
The disadvantage of these, and other tracers just like it: they only measure 400 points around each lens. If you are edging wrap frames, we will recommend tracing the lens rather than the wrap frame, and these tracers will not make "square corners" on lenses, so know this in advance. We recommend a National Optronics Dimensions Tracer for wrap frames and "squarer" corners. If you use the National Optronics 4T Tracer with a National Optronics edger, we do recommend the special Wrap 2 bit from National Optronics.

I'll second the NOP 4T as an easy to set-up unit. The Vision Web trace server software is free and works with most lab's on line ordering interfaces. You will need a couple of USB to serial cables and a serial cable to run between, do a few configurations in the computer to be used and you are good to go. Should only take an hour to set-up.

I have a Santinelli Ice 1000 which accomplished this through DVI
Is the National Optronics 4T still the most recommended remote tracer in 2018???
Yes, just make sure you don’t buy one with a cat5 connection on the backside, those were made for Walmart and cannot be used to transmit anywhere but a Walmart lab.
Thanks!
