    SGX troubles

    Hey,folks...

We're having spindle motor difficulties with our Gerber-Coburn (original) SGX Generator. We've replaced the spindle motor and wiring harness Rev. C and it hasnt fixed the problem. We're not getting the (fast)support from Coburn that we would like. its been down for over a week and we are at our wits end. anyone have a similar problem and how did you fix it? Also, we are in North Carolina and would like to know if there is a Tech nearby that could come out and do an on-site repair. Coburn is very expensive for on-site repairs and obviously we'd like to keep expenses low. please help. thanks.

Call OWC. Could be the motor controller box.

Have you checked the action of the cutter guard? We had an issue in which the guard was not homing or opening fast enough so machine would error. If the guard does not "hit" position within the pre programed time machine protects from damage

Can anyone inform me how to obtain a manual to a SGX Generator. We have 2 rebuilt ones on the way, but need a manual to go with it.

DanP: have you unseated your cards inside? if "swarf" has collected in the pc-card area of the machine you can get some crazy errors. in replacing the suggested problem parts and still no fix...
if it were my machine id blow the card area out to make sure no trash falls in if you unseat cards. unseat cards, then reseat them back in their slot... once all the connections are back where they are supposed to be... if you fire it up and she works like a brand new one.. problem is prolly the cards.. or 1 of them going out.. had an sgx for years and that has fixed/ prolonged use till actual part would go out.. good luck, hope this might be of some help..

Coburn has the manuals as pdf files. A call to tech support should get you what you are looking for.

We have a SGX Turbo, having issues figuring out how to manually load the Innovation data into the proper areas on the SGX turbo screen.
We can not figure what information, goes where.

Just curious why SGX is not connected to your Innovations computer?
