CHESTER, Va., December 16, 2002 – Carl Zeiss Optical, Inc. recently presented a check for $5,000 to the opticianry program at J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College, Richmond. The donated money will be used to financially assist those students who do not have tuition funds readily available at the time of registration.
The opticianry program at J. Sargeant Reynolds was started in 1974 with the help of a dedicated advisory group of Richmond-area opticians. Today, the program is considered by many to be one of the finest in the country. More than 435 opticians have graduated from the school during its 28-year history.
