Blue Jumper Educational site adds new course to help dispensers prepare for the ABO Basic Exam

    03/20/2015 @ 4:00 AM | 10 views

ECP University® (ECPU), an educational solution to develop best practices and deliver growth through in-person, online and distance learning for dispensers and dispensary managers, will offer new training to help dispensers prepare for the American Board of Opticianry (ABO) Basic Certification Exam. The new training is called ABO Exam Prep and is available through ECPUniversity.com.

“Essilor’s continual investment in significant resources for ECP University programming represents another opportunity to demonstrate our commitment to independent eyecare professionals (ECPs) and their practices,” said Howard Purcell, O.D., F.A.A.O., Dipl., and senior vice president of customer development, Essilor of America. “This new ABO Exam Preparation program supports ECPs, so they can grow and receive the critical education and certifications needed to provide their patients the best possible experience.”

ABO Exam Prep will round-out Essilor’s current portfolio of training and educational services known as ECP University. ABO Exam Prep is equipped with an interactive and comprehensive curriculum to help dispensers successfully pass the ABO Basic Certification Exam. The ABO Exam Prep program features six modules with game-based quizzes utilizing whiteboard animation and interactive videos. Also included, is an app to use as a mobile study buddy with practice tests comprised of 125 randomly-selected questions.

With this addition to the portfolio, Essilor will be launching the enhanced ECPUniversity.com website in Q2, which will provide access and details about the full suite of training and educational offerings.
“We consistently hear about the challenges ECPs face when hiring, training and retaining optical staff,” said Purcell. “ECPU meets these needs by training new hires during on-boarding, offering continual professional development opportunities to optical staff looking to advance their capabilities and by helping managers grow their operations and business acumen. We’ve seen first-hand results that lower cost and drive profitable growth for practices.”

ECPU provides best-in-class training and education to foster professional development among eyecare professionals (ECPs), with a range of valuable content designed for various practice roles and experience levels. All practice members gain 24/7 access to the full ECPU catalog of 90-plus courses, including optics and ocular anatomy training, patient service and selling, business management, technical concepts, products, insurance and more.

Visit Essilor of America at Vision Expo East to learn more about ECPU and the curriculum’s capabilities. Details can also be found at http://www.ecpuniversity.com.

Yep. Had the at the office I worked at last year. Never used the pads. Never really used the pagers either but we ended putting a pager in the docs office and taking control of the buzzer so we could keep him on track with appointments.
