Don't use these. I just had my third crash and burn. Use plain round seg instead if flattop or PAL doesn't work. These are just as bad as the blended segs

They are useful when you have no choice; like in a trivex polarized or trivex polarized transitions but they do have a blur zone. Fit them low and use a golf lens or for any sports with more success.
Why not a backside round seg?
They can work well, esp in higher powers, and materials like 1.74 that are not available in FT-28s. But you do have to realize there is a 1.5 mm blend zone. Never had an issue with a backside digital add power.
What lens are we talking about here?
There are a few different versions of these, and they all work differently. Different machines can do tighter blend zones, there are a lot of things that come into play and I wouldnt write off a technology completely just because it hasnt worked in your instance.
Oh I was confused because the term progressive was used. Yeah I use these sometimes and people like them, I have a demo to show people so they know what they are getting, I never ever EVER use the blended version.
the biggest thing to keep in mind is that as the add power increases it gets harder and harder to tighten up the blending area.
