We currently have a Dispensary Lead Optician career opportunity at our Dallas, TX location.


POSITION SUMMARY:
Assist in leading the development of a model dispensary that effectively promotes a “lenses-first” approach to merchandising eyewear. Assist the people and daily operation of the dispensary resulting in high-quality customer service, sales, marketing, dispensing and business management. Contribute to maintaining accurate financial records, budget and assist with the P&L of the department.


Business Management Responsibilities
• Ensure that inventory is managed effectively by balancing customer needs with budget constraints
• Perform quarterly review and analysis of current inventory and product pricing
• Assist in managing the dispensary P&L. Responsible for controlling expenses and improving profitability to achieve or exceed budgeted financial results of the dispensary in partnership with the Dispensary Manager.
• Create and assist process for maintaining accurate records (inventory, financial transactions and patient care)
• Assist in the pricing for products to ensure profitability goals are met
• Negotiating price agreements with vendors including, but not limited to: frames, contact lenses, sunglasses, cleaning cloths, lab services, etc.
• Create, review and own defect report for Omega Lab Manager. Meet with lab partners to recommend and discuss improvements to manufacturing process
• Ensure medical records are maintained and secure as dictated by HIPPA and other compliance law.
• Ensure daily operations of dispensary are complete. Activities include, but are not limited to
scheduling appointments for eye exams and Rx fulfillment
o Placing patient orders
o Collecting payments
o Assist with reconciling and approve invoices
• Communicate status, issues, risk, concerns to management in a timely manner




Dispensing Responsibilities
• Ensure professional dispensing of eyewear including (but not limited to):
• Examine and quality assure written prescriptions & determine lens specifications
• Consult with employees, family members and VIP customers to select best frame and lens choices to meet their prescription, occupational, fashion and lifestyle needs
• Employ needs based selling techniques to ensure patients fully understand their needs and available solutions
• Ensure proper eyewear fit by taking quality measurements and reshaping frames using the proper tools and techniques
• Work with labs to ensure quality and timely delivery of finished eyewear including inspection and rework
• Repair, adjust, and refit broken frames as needed
• Instruct individuals on wear and care of their new glasses as well as adapting to them
• Maintain a clean and inviting dispensary environment with effective POP sales materials and organized frame board
• Demonstrate an image of excellence, professionalism, and customer service




Team Management/Training Responsibilities
• In absence of Dispensary Manager, assume all responsibility and decision making abilities for the dispensary and staff.
• Train and assist dispensary employees/contractors to successfully serve patient needs and meet business goals
• Assist and contribute to development of SOP documentation and staff training. Ensure policies are enforced
• Train staff and sales consultants to use optical equipment and technology as required by business
• Organize & conduct training with other Opticians, Doctors and VIPs




Marketing Responsibilities
• Ensure team is well-versed in Essilor’s products, technology, and marketing programs
• Represent Essilor to the employees, families, industry public and local ECPs by promoting the superior quality of Essilor products
• Partner with vendors for special events and promotions
• Give tours of the Dispensary to VIPs
• Research new trends to make appropriate buying decisions and select merchandise for store
• Organize and execute efforts to drive dispensary and exam business through corporate communications, promotions, partnerships with HR/business units and corporate events
• Represent Essilor at national meetings serving as expert on Essilor products and services when communicating to customers




QUALIFICATIONS:
• 3-5 years selling in a high volume optical dispensary and/or optical store
• 2-3 years team management experience, prefered
• Experienced in stand-up facilitation and training content delivery
• Proven experience in creating and implementing creative solutions to grow sales
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Office Mate and Visionweb
• Proven customer service, verbal/written communication and customer service skills
• Excellent organizational skills and administrative skills
