Just heard that Cynthia Elkin passed away in Virginia on Friday. Some of you may remember Cindy, and her late husband Jim, as being very active in a number of opticianry organizations, both on state and national levels. My condolences to her children and families. Cindy was a CEC speaker, writer, and opticianry activist.
Lost and confused in an optical wonderland!
When I heard about her on Thursday, she was on life support. Her choice was to ensure that even her organs could continue to help someone else. She was a very benevolent person and did a lot of mission trips. Her smile was so genuine and she will be missed by so many. I do know that her funeral is tomorrow.
I met her when we were on the speakers bureau with VICA, now Vision Council. She was so classy. I will miss her.
