Hello, I am an Optician in Michigan and am looking for information regarding licensing in the state of Michigan. Ohio Opticians make on average double the wages we make here. There are Opticals in grocery stores, and the field is spread so thin, it's difficult to get a decent living wage in some cases.
Any suggestions?

Look to the future and move to a more controlled state................or join an online optical that is owned by the optical giants who pay good top salaries.

My advice would be to find work at a luxury practice when it becomes possible. Our store (in Troy, MI) pays the most competitive salary in the area, though we are not currently hiring. But my advice would be to go to stores that sell the highest possible end, solid gold pieces, and the like. You are more likely to find good wages in that sector. Best of luck to you.
