    Question Progressive identifers

    I can recognize most pal identifiers but one

    But this one has me stumped, and it's not located in the pal identifier guide

    The symbol looks like a Tie fighter

    I also would like to know this one!!! I feel like I used to know, but I see it all the time and can't place it either!!!

    Sounds like a Hoya lens, though that thread never had a definitive conclusion.

    It's Hoya, although there should be other engravings if it's a progressive (like design identifier, material identifier, add power).
    There are rules. Knowing those are easy. There are exceptions to the rules. Knowing those are easy. Knowing when to use them is slightly less easy. There are exceptions to the exceptions. Knowing those is a little more tricky, and know when to use those is even more so. Our industry is FULL of all of the above.

    I don't see Hoya too too often so thats probably why I keep forgetting it. I wonder why its never been listed as a symbol in the PAL identifier book though, weird. Though with all the generic free forms out there now that book is quickly becoming outdated.
