    Ray Ban Leather Frame

Anyone have any tips/tricks for getting the glass lenses out of a Ray Ban leather frame without damaging the frame? According to Luxottica, it is a Rx-able frame...
There are rules. Knowing those are easy. There are exceptions to the rules. Knowing those are easy. Knowing when to use them is slightly less easy. There are exceptions to the exceptions. Knowing those is a little more tricky, and know when to use those is even more so. Our industry is FULL of all of the above.

I have been known to do that...........after I get the pt's blessing. If not say a prayer. I always try to use air blown heat to warm it up. That way I can see and watch everything...........break or the lens come out.

And I didn't think of that why....

Fortunately it's a frame we're supplying so we can just send the demo's from a frame we already .... removed ... them from.

Thanks for pointing out the obvious to me, since I sure as heck didn't see it.

Remember your eye protection! (It really feels good to break a lens on purpose! )

+1, I start by drilling a hole into the offending lens and pull pieces away, using long nose pliers, from the center, in lieu of bashing the crap out of the lens. This helps to prevent the frame front bevel from blowing outward, ruining the frame and sending shards of broken glass into your optical coffee cup.
