New EHR/Practice Management Software....SO CONFUSED HELP!

Having had Officemate forever (over 15 years & currently using Version 8.x.x) we're now looking at upgrading to the cloud. We want to do this before ICD-10 coding kicks in next October. We have had a demo from Uprise, we have one from Eyefinity coming up, and will be scheduling Revolution and MyVisionExpress. Just saw Cloud 9 EHR as well. I would appreciate any advice you can give me based on your experiences. We're anticipating the usual 3-4 months of HELL in the offices (2 locations). Please let me know your experiences and is the cost worth it for the system you have? Thank you in advance for all of your responses.

Would strongly recommend Crystal Practice Management. Price is less that most others. Would recommend staying away from cloud versions as they are slower and if the cloud goes down, you're screwed. Better have the server in your office and have a backup server ready to go in case disaster strikes.

Have to strongly disagree with mitchhorowitz.

Cloud based programs are as fast or faster in most cases, triple redundancy means no chance of losing date, HIPA certification requires banking level security and high level encryption rendering data unreadable in the event of a breach. Currently all of your online banking takes place in the cloud.

Demo EyeCloudPro, by far one the most user friendly, fast and powerful EHR/Retail practice management software systems available.

    Mitch

Our inclination is to use a cloud based system that is HIPAA compliant. Our online connection is very fast (30mbps download/27mbps upload) and our connection has never been lost, other than a power blackout, in which case we can't see patients anyhow.

Thanks for the recommendation. We will certainly check into EyeCloudPro. How long have you had it and what problems have you encountered with it (if any)? What was the "learning curve" with it and did the staff/doctors adapt to it well compared to your previous EHR/PMS system?
