Redhot Jumper Quebec Optometrists loose against Coastal ...........................................

It could be of general interest that the Quebec Optometric Association has lost its case against the Essilor owned "Coastal" optical on-line company.

I have put the judgement, that is in French into English, through the computer translator and posted it in 11 sections on the Canadian Board where it can be seen in its full text.

This might start a hot discussion .........................

Redhot Jumper Ophthalmic lenses advertised and offered for sale through websites.................

[6] Ophthalmic lenses advertised and offered for sale through websites Coastal may be purchased by residents of Quebec.
Coastal now an Essilor company has made a historic win over the regulatory rule by the optometrist's of Quebec.

That profession and also probably the dispensing opticians of Quebec can now be faced with official competition by optical internet suppliers which can now start and increase advertising in French which is the language of the Quebec majority.

I am wondering if that will start changes in the system like :

    Optical Technology Grants by Essilor

Three $20,000 grants are awarded to optometry schools and colleges that exhibit their commitment to growing the industry through new advancements. Schools must submit a 1,000-word essay about why they need and deserve the grant.
