    Temperature

When it comes to breakage resistance: Has anyone tested the various materials at various temperatures? Most plastics break and scratch easier at low tempeatures and cut best at high temperatures.

All glass breaks easier at low temperatures.

Could it be that safety requirements and concerns should be different in differing climes and should they be different for different materials at different temperatures>

    Exclamation Temperature

Most materials expand when hot and contract when cold.
(Example: highways which have expansion slots every so many feet)

    Very interesting point Chip.
It would be interesting to see how various countries work out their safety standards. My guess is they are all set at a standard temp.
Is there just one standard accross America as you have quite extremes of temp from the hot south to the cold north...

If you are having a problem with breakage might I suggest turning up the thermostat in your lab!;)
