CPT code questions - Blended bifocal and Shamir Duo

    Hey all,

Curious if anyone will please share how you currently bill (i.e. what v-codes do you use) for blended bifocals and the Shamir Duo (if you're fitting that one)? Having some intense discussions with our Billing Manager

    Thanks in advance!

2 Answers1. Blended bifocalDepends on the lens if it's a older style blended RD22 I have yet to do this by I would probably use V22XX (the XX based detemined by power) plus V2299, there really isn't a good code for a non-variable aspheric blended bifocal (I working under the assumption that an older style blended bifocal is not a variable aspheric lens, I don't know enough about the lens to know if it qualified under V2430 hopefully there's someone else on optiboard that's more familar with this lens design). If it's a newer digitally designed blended bifocal like Three Rivers Blended O-Seg, then it's the V22XX code for the base portion of the lens plus V2430 for the digital portion of the lens.2. Shamir DuoV22XX plus V2430
