What's the most current progressive lens?

What is the most current Progressive Addition Lens? I am currently in school to become a licensed optician and have an assignment to make a presentation on the most current progressive lens. I also need hand outs and brochures etc. If anyone can refer me any eyeglass lens/frame reps that would be wonderful.

Depends on what you are looking for. Free form lenses tend to be the most advanced, as they can be customized and are accurate to the .01 diopter. For names the intouch is quickly becoming a fan favorite and is getting quite the following. Some of the Seko lenses can account for the NPD, Hoya has some cool stuff that I'll let those with better knowledge talk about. It all depends.

Does the Shamir Duo count as a progressive? To the best of my knowledge that's the most recent lens released by any of the big designers. If not, I'd probably just go with the Autograph III.
There are rules. Knowing those are easy. There are exceptions to the rules. Knowing those are easy. Knowing when to use them is slightly less easy. There are exceptions to the exceptions. Knowing those is a little more tricky, and know when to use those is even more so. Our industry is FULL of all of the above.

The Seiko Superior is probably one of the most advanced lenses in the industry. You can get a pdf brochure and all the info you need on the lens at the Seiko website. Just google "Seiko Superior progressive lens".

If duo counts, Zeiss released "digital lens" which is more recent

The most recent and advanced is the Younger Camber lens.

Although I love the forward thinking aspects of the Camber Blank (which is actually used on a number of different progressives, the Camber is a technology just like Varilux's Wave 3 is a technology) and I do love it, it is hard to say that the slight variations on front curvature do more for a patient's vision than any of the special patented progressive designs of Varilux or Seiko or Zeiss, I love IOT stuff but to poo poo innovations by those other companies because it is harder to understand what Seiko does in the Superior or Varilux in the Physio Enhanced W3 is short sighted. IOT designs are great, but the Camber is not the only great new lens technology.

Robert_S - I work for Caledonian Optical in the UK and we manufacture a Camber lens called ARC. I'd be happy to talk to you about it.
