    Bono has glaucoma

And here I thought the tinted lenses were a fashionable way to hide aging wrinkled eyes. He previously claimed photophobia, but I never bought that completely because the tints he wears are so light.

Some glaucoma medications can cause photosensitivity.

Sure, I know that, I just meant that he had previously said he wore the suns because of camera flashes, etc.

He could move to California or Colorado and get a legal, all natural herbal remedy for his glaucoma. This sometimes causes red eyes - due to the smoke from the combustion of organic material. The sunglasses will cover up the red eyes. Glaucoma treated and sunglasses still required. Its a win win.

I know, right? It's so awful the way he comes to your house and forces you to listen to U2's albums.

Doesn't he often wear blue or purple tinted lenses, though? I'd think that if it were a photosensitivity issue, gray, green, or brown would be more helpful. I've personally had the best success with photosensitive patients by fitting them in lenses with a Brown #1-2 dye.

He may not look it but he's a bad azz, first time he came to my house was 1980, he knocked me to the floor, put me in a submission hold(still sore), Edge broke all my English Invasion music and made me listen to BOY, until my ears bleed.
I didn't attend the funeral, but I sent a nice letter saying I approved of it. Mark Twain

Comparing/contrasting U2 to "independent bands" is like comparing McDonald's to your favorite family owned pizza place. There is room in the world for both.

When "Beautiful Day" makes the album you are out of ideas. You like him - you can have him. But when you give your work away and get made fun of on SNL for it, it's pretty bad. The Coastal of pop music. Still - to each his own.

Technically, U2 didn't give their music away. They sold it to Apple, and Apple gave it away. Sounds to me like a sound business move by U2.

Yep, I'm sure they aren't losing sleep over "giving their work away"...anyway...

I really didn't mean/don't care to know who loves the music, just commenting on the fact he's apparently had glaucoma for the last 20 years. I find it interesting that if they follow in the footprints of the bands that never die, we may someday see, very publicly, the success (or not) his long term treatment.
