    Lightbulb Optrafair...

I see the website for the show in 2003 has now come online.
I thought they might have added a bit of content before releasing it to the world.....
UnderConstruction Isn't the best start in the world for a site like this.......

Let's see how long it remains under construction. Not very clever for a commercial show!

I've been checking on the Hospital optometry link on the AOP web site ever since it appeared in September. It is still under development!

I kknow we take a long time to do things in the NHS but with webpages you'd think they'd have them ready to run rather than just put up headings that lead back to a message to keep checking to see if anything has happened. Do I sound frustrated? :o

John R - what are you going on about? And Tim, why are you agreeing?

So what if their website is as it currently is.

It's under construction. Fair enough. Better than having no website.

The show isn't until April and I would have thought there'd be plenty of organisation and confirmations and cancellations until the site is ready to go live.

    What's the big deal???

    Whats the Deal...
Adam, If you are going to build a web site then at least have something there for people to look at..I will pop back a couple of times but if nothing else is up within a week then its dead meat...
Sorry but as web sites go NOTHING is better than Under construction as it show a total lack of proffessionalism as far as it goes..
They are advertising the fact they have a site up and running, does not bode well does it. Mind you could be a sign of things to come in Birmingham when its due....You turn up only to find a sign on the door UNDERCONSTRUCTION pleas come back in 2 years......

Northerners and we will tell you about that bit of the country south of Watford.....Other wise known as The South.

Anyway i bet Optrafair is only as a big as one stand at Vision Expo....

I agree with John, "please come back soon website under construction" is grinding teeth irritating!!!! :o

Oh John you forgot the emnity between Lancastrians and Yorkshire folk (War of the Roses) Scots and everyone else! (Lots of other wars) Parlimentarians versus Royalists (Civil war), Dog lovers versus cat lovers etc. etc.

If there isn't a good reason to fight among ourselves, we'll do it anyway!

I was going to post a private message to John to semi-apologise for causing conflict. No harm or disrespect meant, John.

But I still stand by my sentiments - who gives a flying **** about the optrafair website?

(OK, I know the answer to that is at least you and Tim).

who gives a flying **** about the optrafair website?
too true in fact who gives a flying **** about optrafair.

and about the under destruction sign !!!!! well the only thing worse than no web site is one that is under construction, with no
content whatsoever. surely it wouldn't have hurt them to load something, someone must have signed up to exhibit ? ( well maybe ):hammer: :hammer:

It is by universal misunderstanding that all agree. For if, by ill luck, people understood each other, they would never agree.

Interesting to note that the source of the link originally has now taken down the artical about it....
Seems someone got off to a flying start but forgot to check that the chocks had been removed....

Who does care...Not me. ;) I just get sick of folks doing stuff like this it gives us other site owners a bad name....

You Brits should move your arguments on Optrafair to the Tade Fair argument so everybody can have some fun.

Mind you putting on a in construction site is not the best of publicity.......I wish the Vision Expo people be doing it and would right fall over them.

Where I live is an area 'Anchor' which is between my work and my home which I currently drive around as there is no road through.
Also a development is underway nearby, Lil Chef, Mc D's, petrol stn etc, and a big sign stating 'Anchor Estate'.
Short cut i thought, so I drive down the road and meet a dead end about 100 yards on !
Maybe thats just the way of the world today, provide directions and links to things before they actually exist.
Maybe ill run a massive ad campaign for my factory shop, then when people arrive ill tell them ive nothing for them but they should keep trying back at random till I have.

A stall is a part of a stable, the seperation of a large room into smaller units "stalls". It's also a place to sell things from as in a "market stall", it's also to put things off, or to cease to go as in a car "stalling"...

Mind you stole is both a verb and a noun meaning completely different things, unless the mink regards it's skin as having been stolen to make a stole?

Whereas a filly is definitely non pc for the female of the human species and very pc for a female of the equine.:D
