Who got into the industry 17 years ago at the tender age of 19. He decided shortly after working in the Biz to put everything he had into becoming an Optician and realized quickly he was good at it. Took the ABO not even 2 years into getting into Opticianry and PASSED, 3 years later sat for his Practical Exam to become licensed. Passed that as well.
What's unfortunate is that he let his ABO Certification lapse by not keeping up with the CEC's required. But still, he keeps his license up by paying for his renewal every 2 years. Now he wants his License to flex to other states with other, more strict, licensing requirements. He sat for his NCLE last fall, but didn't study the way he should have and failed. He loves the company he works for but is frustrated over his losing/ lacking of the other credentials that would allow him to easily transfer to another licensed state. Should he maybe concentrate on re-obtaining his ABO first, since he would most likely pass that and then sit for his NCLE again OR just focus on passing his NCLE again and find out what's involved in reciprocating his License to the state he's interested in moving/transferring to? Sorry about the backstory, but I thought his history might be pertinent, mildly entertaining even.
