Can you take the ABO before you get your license (Ohio)?

I checked recently and I got my apprentice license January 1 of 2013. They hold the tests every May and November in Columbus. Would I be able to take the test before my 2 years of apprenticeship is up? (That way I don't have to wait until May to take the test)

the short answer is Yes! in Ohio you have to have taken the ABO/NCLE within 3 years of applying for your license. Also the ABO/NCLE just changed the test to 4 times a year starting this month. Basically you can take the test every 3 months. Good luck let us know how you do.

check with the Opticians Association of Ohio, i know they are doing a prep course sometime soon and it may be close to you! again, good luck
