    Unifit NosePad??

Weird question but it's come up twice recently. Patient wants to purchase a frame that has standard snap/screw in nosepads. However, he likes the feel of the unifit bridge and wants us to retro-fit the standard nosepad with an after market unifit bridge.

Is that even available? An after market bridge that is unfit style, hard not the floppy softwings thing, that we can snap or screw into standard nosepad wire?

They make unifit bridges that fit either screw in or snap in frames. They are available in various sizes from kids to large adult. You should be able to get them from whomever you buy nose pads from. They're silicone so they need to be changed out occasionally.

    Good luck to you!

There would be too many variables in patients nose shapes not to mention frame pad arm designs to make a hard or silicone molded unifit bridge practical imo. To my knowledge the closest you're going to come are strap bridges from Hilco-

Agree with this but I can only find the soft floppy kind, not a true unifit. I'm looking for the harder more formed bridges, old fashioned unifit on a good old man's frame. Optisource and hilco have been searched with no luck.

Hmmm... On further reflection and qualified because I'm not sure if it's still being made but Safilo had an Elasta frame that had a semi rigid fixed bridge. Maybe you could get one from them.

    Anyone remember the model?

Elasta 3055. We still carry it. Comes in 2 colors 3 sizes with the most stout spring hinge I've ever worked with.
