I've always thought that making a brand name for glasses should be easy.
Just choose some name from somewhere, like "Rhyssa Roni" and go with it.

Heard an early rumor this week...
MK may be replaced with a shopping mall type brand. Think Abercrombie & Fitch, American Eagle, Aeropostale. Something like that. Not sure about the second line.
When I heard this rumor I immediately canceled all my optical frame orders from Marchon.
Ahhhhhh...branding. The allure of the brand.
When Marchon got Coach taken, we didn't replace it. They were some of the lowest quality frames made. The Marchon Core product was more substantial. The Oph. frames didn't sell well, but the Suns did. Who cares if Lux took it, because, well who cares.
Seems like Marchon is "brand poor" if that's what you're after. And if you want "brands" then Safilo, Lux and Others will solve your problems.
But the OP seemed overly concerned that they are losing MK. Please STOP!
Yes, you will get people in the door because you have "XXX brand." But instead of putting them in whatever hot brand du jour is, move them into a BETTER MADE, HIGHER QUALITY, HIGHER PROFIT MARGIN FRAME. I'm not talking $1000 frames here, but there are several brands that can do this for you. We are in a small market and we sell boatloads of OGI - and their higher priced Seraphin line, Cazal, Jaguar, Vera Wang, Clearvision Brands (BCBG, Ellen Tracy (who?)), and the list goes on.
I will say that we picked up RayBan at our Satellite office only because I got tired of people asking for it. But that's a fickle crowd. Plus, the rep said that "they might come in to look at a RAyBan but end up buying something else." BINGO!
Moral of the story...don't be a victim of the brand game and the insurance game (EyeMed/Lux/VSP/Marchon). Sell what you want to sell and be satisfied that the patient got the best VALUE from you.
