Blue Jumper Halp! Pt post-neck surgery, needs lens similar to Zeiss GT2 3D

I have an Eyemed patient who has recently had neck surgery and lost some of the mobility in her neck. She works on a computer and needs a lens that is similar to her old Zeiss GT2 3D lens.

One of my opticians styled her into a Physio Enhanced, but the narrower intermediate is giving her issues. It also has a shorter corridor than the Zeiss lens she was previously wearing. I spoke with my lab and they recommended a Definity 3. Does anyone have any experience with this lens or can recommend another lens to my patient? Our office normally only works with Essilor and Hoya lenses, but I'm willing to fudge the rules a little in order to get her into a product that works well for her.

I'll take all recommendations and advice you can offer! Thanks in advance!

The Zeiss GT2 3D should be very similar to the Zeiss Choice Plus. There's more detailed information in this thread: http://www.optiboard.com/forums/show...ce-progressive

I'll leave it for others to comment about the similarities to lenses from other manufacturers.

The Zeiss ID 2I is specifically designed to have a wide intermediate. Assuming the B height is sufficient it also has a fairly long corridor. But I suspect that most women these days want a frame with a small B height.

Here are the three different versions of the Zeiss Individual 2:

    • 2N: shortens the corridor length and redistributes viewing zones for up to 30% larger reading area in the chosen frame
    • 2I: lengthens the corridor by 1 to 2mm and redistributes viewing zones to deliver up to 25% larger intermediate areas in the chosen frame
    • 2: (default design if neither of the above is specified). The ZEISS Individual 2 default design will provide the best all-around performance

Among Hoya products, the Hoya ID LifeStyle 2 Balanced design has a fairly long variable corridor and reasonable intermediate (again, depending on frame size). This is the lens I personally wear and is comparable to the Zeiss ID 2 default lens.
