We have a pair of 7070's. At first I thought it seemed like a bad idea when my boss tricked the small tracer bar that pushes against the lens by pushing it out with his finger. However this technique seems to work 8 out of 10 times, if the point where the tracer slips off is under a half mm or so. It works better with zyl frames because the thicker frame material covers any visible imperfections. Also, when trying to trace large high wrap jobs (that probably should be sent out) i have found that if you trace one lens and rock it carefully you can get a decent trace without slipping off. I know many of the newer model tracers have a tilt function built in, that's why I tried it and it worked! Anyone else have any tips or cheats on their equipment they would like to share?
