Refraction and Keratometry
Refraction and keratometry can be performed with very high reliability and precision . The refraction has a very wide dioptric range is from -30 to +22D, the keratometry can measure the radius of curvature from 5.5 to 10.0 mm. The RK-F1 can even measure eyes with a pupil as small as ø 2.5 mm. On the print-out following results are included: SPH, CYL, AX, central radius of the cornea, residual astigmatism and pupil distance and (optionally) a graph of the examinee’s refraction.
Corneal periphery measurement
The peripheral keratometry mode allows up to 8 points to be measured peripherally, at a 30 degrees angle from the eye’s center. Readings for the corneal astigmatism axis and corneal eccentricity will be indicated on the print out
Retro Illumination mode
The Retro-illumination mode is useful for identifying cataracts, vitreous opacity, scars, and other serious eye problems. Up to 2 images can be shown enlarged on the monitor for observation . It is also possible to perform refraction manually during retro illumination mode, so possible interference by small opacities can be avoided.
Diameter measurement
In the diameter measurement mode, a diameter measurement of the pupil, cornea or contact lens can be performed. Using auto alignment a still image can be obtained very easily and the measurement can be done in all tranquillity
Ergonomic controls
The RK-F1 features a control panel for all major functions and a roller and trackball for initial alignment and manual operation.
Motorized chinrest
The motorized chin rest can be used to align the examinee’s eye to the correct height very easily.
