santinelli nidek 9000sx sfb unit puzzling problem

this happened all of a sudden to my 9000sx PLB-2R

when i trace a nylon frame,, and set it on nylon aut

will grind lens and polish...but stops after

will not groove... error code 603 ( sfb edge end sensor fault)

however the unit does sfb, when i trace a metal or plastic frame the unit comes out an safety bevels it..

so entered settings attempted sfb calib setup.... asked for reference jig,, so used the LMU jig as the only one i assumed for both. lmu and sfb

all it did was the clamped LMU jig moved down very slowly towards grindin wheel till it stopped, i had to stop/cancel it just stopped there for a while

however since then SFB doesnt come out for any frame type grind

if i move it manually while off will return to position on startup and initialize

and i can grind a lens normally,,just doesnt SFB,, altough lens clamp unit does come down as if SFB unit was there, if i press SFB button

edge sensor volt around 445mv

sfb motor unit itself does spin,,altough main arm wont come forward

Your SFB unit/arm needs to be replaced. This is one of the firsts things that goes on these units. Since we don't do too many semirimless-grooved lenses we just don't use it.
