    Friend or foe? You decide.

This is the "E" business concept in their own words .................................

E buys G&S then proceeds to stack the election of the order of optometrist/opticians with their candidates. They would then take over the two orders and have a free hand in how things are run in Quebec. After that is an open field for them in any area they want to play.
Nothing new here. This is exactly what Imperial Optical did in Canada until the early 90's.

History is repeating itself, only its world wide ..........................could be both, funny and also sad.
They are working hard at a total control in Brazil right now as well, but are well advanced in India the most populated country.

Soon, in a few short years "E" will triple their 40,000 present staff when all or most opticians and optometrists will be on their pay roll. Another step forward to a corporation run world government.

A lot of our lives is already run by a few oil companies. and how many others as the drug companies and so forth.

I still remember the UK in the 1950s when you could recognize a British tourist, in Europe by their glasses, dispensed under government health care, 2 models each for men and women each.

It is interesting to see OptiBoard posters not really reacting to all this happening all out in the open, and the pieces to the puzzle are all there and fairly easy to put together.

There are some areas of the world that are putting their foot down. The Korean Fair Trade Commission has blocked a stock purchase agreement of Daemyung Optical which would have given Essilor 66% market share of single vision lenses and 46% market share of multifocal lenses: http://bit.ly/1muQdP7

Maybe just a drop in the bucket, but better than nothing...

I wonder why some government agency doesn't get after them just like they did to Imperial Optical in the 70's?
