Confused Question about Santinelli Nidek LE-9000SX Express

I haven't posted for what seems like forever, so bear with me. I was recently hired on at an indep Optom's office and I am now OUT OF WORKING AT THE CHAINS...thank you, JC! Anyway, we have this Santinelli that I have a question about. Any help would be appreciated. I am trying to edge a GT2 3D with Pure Coat (too late to order it cut and edged) and I want to use the "soft" edging feature so it doesn't slip. But, the lens is poly. Is there a way to turn the water off for the cycle til it starts fining? Thanks so much...

Just disconnect the pump from the power cable.

Water should only be running on the back of the grinding chamber in poly through most of the cycle. Check and make sure you don't have your pumps plugged in backwards. If you do, water will turn on immediately in the roughing cycle. Stop and swap the plugs in back and that should do it.
