Poor Bob! This looks so bad and painful. I hope he's got a good doc looking after him.

It started out in his left eye, went down to his lower lid then across to the other eye.

Whomever is looking after him needs to use something other then Smirnoff to treat it.

When I saw that it went to both eyes, I thought to myself, "Yep, and I bet the doc told you NOT to rub it and to WASH your hands, big guy" *shakes head* They say he is under the care of an NBC doctor. Interesting job, dontcha think?

Use unflavored Smirnoff vodka only.

The citrus flavors especially, sting...

(Side note- Just finished a good non fiction book "The King of Vodka" about the founder of Smirnoff and turn of the 20th century Russia.)

I think it was a viral eye infection since he had to bow out of the rest of the Olympics due to extreme light sensitivity and blurriness from his eyes watering too much. If it was a bacterial infection, it would have cleared up pretty quick....Poor Bob!

FWIW- A regular bridge is known as a saddle bridge.

In the US, perhaps. A saddle bridge over here screws or pushes in like nosepads, and offers support over the whole bridge.

Look at us, being all international and junk. I've got to say I read a few dispensing textbooks produced in the US when I first started in optics, and I used the 'wrong' terminology for ages before I was corrected!
