    -15 progressive input please

trying to help this lady out and would like some suggestions on what would work best for her.
I feel so bad for her, as the last place gave her crap lenses, changed her rx for the worse, then closed up shop...we were on the phone with davis for hours fighting for her to get davis ok the remake thru us...

    OD -15.00/-1.75/ 090
    OS -3.50/-1.75/ 017

    Add of 2.25
    seg 16

category "O" level is paid for as well as 1.67
(same level as supercede, gt2 3d etc....)

Note: left eye is not really functional so not really part of the equation so much, so Id love to kill it for the"good eye"

    Thanks for any help!

Good luck getting this job thru Davis! I would try to give her GTII short or Acolade Freedom (not sure if that goes for 16 height.
Compact ultra might be also a choice!

If she's not flat broke indigent, you should encourage her to pay for some glasses that will be made well and will work. That's step one.

If she's a welfare case, then so be it.

PALs will be bad, no matter how you look at it. Make FT28's, put in slab off (unless the other eye is dead blind), and she should count herself lucky. Just looking 10 mm off center will give her crappy optics, regardless of the lens, let alone 16.

I'd be willing to be she 1. has money 2. doesn't have to use Davis, or she wouldn't be requesting a PAL.

That might be worth looking into. If you can balance the Rx, the eyes will appear to be the same size to the casual observer- a big cosmetic boost.

If you want to "kill it" for the OD, have you had the RGP discussion with your pt yet? Perhaps even a MF design? Or you can get creative and look into a hybrid fit with an RGP for the sphere (and possibly taming much of the cyl as well) and then a well made PAL over the top for the intermediate and reading.

I agree with Robert, regarding using a balance lens for her OS. As to her insurance, sometimes out of necessity it is in the patients and dispensers best interest to accomplish these tasks without the glaring eye of an HMO. I would not give a discount up front until the job is done to the satisfaction of the patient, you never know how many lenses you may have to burn thru to get the job done. As you can see there are a lot of lens suggestions in this thread.
