    question about the drop ball test..

    Does anyone know if the drop ball test needs to be taken both from the Convex and Concave side??

    Since a lens could be either bi-concave or bi-convex, it would be more accurate to say that the ball should contact the front or outer surface of the lens.

    When is the last time anyone has done a drop ball test on any plastic lens?

    The final processor is still required by law to at least perform (and document) batch testing of plastic lenses in their finished form...

    We always set up the tube in a convenient location to the finishing department and used it as a lab coat hanger. Worked great!

    I have one in the basement if you need a spare coat hanger. Along with a heat-treater (keeps coffee on the top warm a long time, ya know). Make me an offer. No free shipping. That drop ball tester base is heavy!
