A few months ago, I would have said ambivalant. However, recently trying to get a pair of RecSpecs made for a 12 year old at a +6.00, and sending them back 3 times to try to get them to move the bevel back (pretty sure they just kept sending the same lenses back) to keep him from lash crashing (or in this case, eyeball crashing); each time being told they "totally understood what I was asking"; and finally having them made (perfectly) at our own lab, I'm leaning a little more on the dis-heartened side.

On a side note: Knowing our lab does it better keeps me from having to do those pesky VSP Special Lens Allowance Post-auths.

Not worth it. Walmart can sell them for less than we can buy them.

    I am with Aurelius.

Any company that uses political/nationalistic-sounding terms such as "American", "Liberty", "Freedom", "Federal" or "National" in their name often behaves in manner totally antithetical to said term.

    Can I choose inept?

Switch is slacking as well, they used to do great work. Someone or some people must have left because the quality has dipped considerably and gettig warranty issues fixed has been hellish. Right hand never knows what the left hand is doing. When I send stuff back for warranty evaluation it usually gets lost and the have to comp me a new product. They must be losing money like crazy.

Pure Evil! Ever since they jacked the prices up and wont allow you to buy just the frame at a reasonable price

When consumers can buy the exact same frame from Walmart cheaper than I can buy it direct from Liberty, there is something hugely wrong somewhere.

Well! I had major disappointments with them.... Specifically their magnetic lens system, Switch. I had a patient order these back in may for the baseball season. Switch had finally made it correct in late october. I am finally returning them back to Liberty. Its really a bad product when they can't even follow through on getting the product out in a timely manner.

OK, so almost everyone is highly negative on Liberty (we're not happy with them either) so what companies would you recommend to replace the sports eyewear and the motorcycle sunglasses? (I'd ask about the Switch too but I can't think of any magnetic replacement tinted lenses (though you can always do a Chesmistrie clip for a magnet option), every other similar lens replacement system I can think of is snap in)

For motorcycle glasses, Wiley X is the shiznit.

For me, hands down, Hilco all the way. Their Rx Suns are pure schizzle.

Liberty side hasnt been an issue, but switch side... OMFG. what a hot mess. 2 months to get a set made for a pt. Me and the Doc got a promo pair, and wow 3 months later they got it right. yet still charged us almost 600 for free pairs...

constant calls and emails with specific order correction and they still send it wrong. Total lack of communication within the company and incompetence. sending half a job... sending one lens and no magnets on it... putting someone elses rx in my frame... sending gray C lenses instead of golf green...

I pulled all the frames off they board. Got tired of the issues and being lied to about how to price and sell them. says it comes with 2 lenses... but if you get an rx you only get 1... not really a switch anything with only 1 lens. rep says its 2 lenses, but CS says its 1. They wont even give you the stock plano lens that CAME WITH IT!!!!!!!
